Keep mounting Higher! a poem by Sukhpreet Singh

Keep mounting higher!

Pessimism shone on me brightly,
Yet hope kept holding me tightly.
Dropped I was on an impasse,
Rejected I was by the mass.
Whenever and wherever I brooded over,
I could find only strangulating clouds hover.
Eventually I fled to escape,
From the pessimism winning race.
Finally I came across a flight,
Which apparently looked full of light.
Feet seized by the pessimism,
Struggled hard for a bit of optimism.
Courage was all I took to push forward,
But pessimism was quite froward.
First step I mounted falteringly,
Second step I managed uncertainly,
I heaved a sigh of relief,
Pessimism cast off and also grief.
I sat to ponder over,
and witnessed pessimism getting lower.
Third step I mounted and stopped,
To encounter pessimism prevalent down being whopped.
Fourth step seemed more bright,
Full of hope, good vibes and light.
From the fifth I gazed below and saw,
A long long pessimists row.
Trying their very hard,
To get away from the pessimism yard.
Before I tried to mount the next step,
A feeling put me on a static kept.
I gazed at the fight below,
Many tried but pessimism didn’t let go.
My hands decidedly stretched to support,
to the ones who fought, fought and fought.
Gradually, I saw many around me,
With visages full of glee.
All of sudden a glimmer startled and dazed me,
I landed at a place where i couldn’t see.
A bright light shone there,
With lustre found very very rare.
When daze shed off I could see,
A bright optimism and life full of glee.
I took some time to realise the fact,
The step I was on was different from the rest.
I looked around astounded,
Inscription of Step number 10 made me dumbfounded.
What was that which landed me here,
I tried but couldn’t find the answer anywhere.
My boggled mind bounced to and fro,
But the feeling of amazement couldn’t go.
More light was prevalent above,
I mounted up like a dove.
optimism shone even more there,
And pearls of knowledge fell from everywhere.
I realised and found,
What made me step number ten bound;
Ones who help the others,
Are bound to find the ethers.
The realisation made me feel enticing,
I felt my heart and body rejoicing.
I kept mounting higher and higher,
Brightest Optimism and light reached nigher and nigher.
I kept mounting higher and higher,
Brightest Optimism and light reached nigher and nigher.
